Santa Rita de Cassia Church or St. Rita Church was located in Maina, Curtorim. The Church was dedicated to Saint Rita of Cassia. She was an Italian Augustinian nun, widow and saint venerated in the Roman Catholic Church.
The original chapel of St. Rita was part of the Curtorim parish. It was built in 1782 and erected by the provision of 8.6.1783. Maina was elevated into a parish in 1960. A new and more spacious church was built and inaugurated on 22nd May, 1999.
St. Rita Church was built in Modern design with neo-Gothic elements. It is a two-storeyed structure with two entrances. Statue at apex is crowned by belfry. The feast of St. Rita Church was celebrated on 16th January every year.
