The Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Fuga Chapel also known as Cunchelim Church is located in Cunchelim village. It was erected in remote times; the Chapel of Cunchelim had a new provision of erection in 1847. The chapel was related to the Parish of Mapusa from which it was elevated to the status of a Church on 30th October 1977. There is a special plaque put up of 'Benefactors from Iran', since the bulk of donations came from Persian Muslims.
Dedicated to Our Lady, the Church attracts a large number of people irrespective of caste or creed. There is a Boy's Cross with a tiny enclosure along the road. The bell-tolling pattern that accompanies the recitation of the Angelus with feelings has remained constant from its very inception. The main feast of the church lasts for 10 days.
A few hundred meters away is St Jeron chapel. There are chapels of Holy Cross at Zor Vaddo and another at Madian.
