At a distance of 4 km from Jaipur Railway Station, the Digital Museum is a political museum located situated in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly complex, Jaipur. It is one of its kind museum in India, and among the must-include places in Jaipur Heritage Packages.
The Digital Museum is located in the basement of the Rajasthan Assembly Complex, and has been named the 'Political Narrative Museum'. It was inaugurated in 2022 by the former Chief Justice of India, NV Ramanna. Rajasthan proudly holds the distinction of being the first state in India to establish a digital museum that offers visitors a virtual exploration of the region's history since its days as Rajputana.
Developed by Jaipur Smart City Limited (JSCL) at an investment of 17 crores, the museum encompasses an area of 26,000 square feet, spanning both the upper and lower ground floors of the assembly building. This interactive museum highlights the unsung political narratives of Rajasthan through its 30 engaging galleries. Featuring a blend of classic artistry and contemporary technological media, the museum illustrates the operations of the Legislative Assembly, along with essential information regarding the Chief Minister, the Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, various constituencies, and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs).
Beyond showcasing the political, social, and economic history of Rajasthan from both past and present perspectives, the museum vividly represents significant events from the last 70 years through animations, advanced graphics, and both 2D and 3D presentations. Notable topics include the abolition of the Jagirdari system, advancements in Rajasthan following the establishment of Panchayati Raj, and the influential movements that have shaped the state's history. Additionally, the museum features life-size silicone statues of all former Chief Ministers of Rajasthan, as well as all Assembly Speakers to date.
