Chulgiri Jain Temple, Jaipur - Timings, History, Darshan, Pooja Timings

At a distance of 11 km from Jaipur Railway Station, Chulgiri Atishaya Kshetra or Chulgiri Jain Temple is a revered Jain Temple in Jaipur. It is one of the well-known Jain temples in Jaipur.

Chulgiri Jain Temple was founded in 1953 by Acharya Shri Desh Bhushan Ji, who sought a tranquil location for meditation. The serenity of the area led him to engage in profound self-reflection, ultimately inspiring him to establish a Jain temple, which he named 'Chulgiri.' This site is regarded as one of the most sacred and renowned locations, particularly among the Jain community.

In 1966, three white stone sculptures representing Shree Parshavnath, Mahaveer Swami, Tirthankars, and Neminath were unveiled at the temple. Subsequently, the temple underwent renovations that included the addition of 24 Tirthankar statues, and a water tank. To the right of the entrance, visitors can find an enclosure housing an idol of Padmavati Devi. The temple's art and architecture are distinctive and harmoniously designed.

The main attraction inside the temple is the 21-foot-tall statue of Mahaveer Swami, which was installed in 1982. This remarkable statue is carved from a single block of white marble and may evoke comparisons to the Bahubali statue in Shravanabelagola, Karnataka, as both are Khadgasan statues. Additionally, the temple features an extensive Jain library stocked with religious texts.

Chulgiri Jain Temple is perched atop the edge of a mountain that is part of Jhalana Leopard Safari. The temple offers breathtaking views the surrounding landscape, with rolling hills bathed in the golden light of sunset. The temple complex includes a Jain Dharamshala and a Bhojanshala, or canteen, to accommodate Teerth Yatris.

Visitors can access the Chulgiri Atishaya Kshetra via two routes: the historic Ghat Ki Guni road, which passes through Vidhyadar Ka Bagh and Sisodiya Rani Ka Bagh, or through the Ghat Ki Guni Tunnel. Upon arriving at the base of the Chulgiri Jain Temple Mountain, one can choose to ascend nearly 1,000 stairs or take the road designated for vehicles to reach the temple.
