At a distance of 2 km from Jawhar Bus Stand, the Jai Vilas Palace is a historic palace situated in the Jawhar town. It is one of the historical palaces in Maharashtra, and among the prominent Jawhar tourist places.

The grand Jai Vilas Palace, also known as Raj Bari, was constructed by Raja Yashwant Rao Mukne in 1940 and serves as the royal residence of the Mukne family. The name Jai Vilas Palace is a tribute to one of the rulers of Jawhar, Mr. Jaiba Maharaj Mukne. Crafted from Syenite stone sourced from Kalidhond, just 5 km from Jawhar, the palace stands as a stunning example of pink stone architecture.

Perched atop a hill, this architectural marvel seamlessly blends Western and Indian styles, all in the regal pink stone. The palace stands as a symbol of Jawhar's socio-cultural evolution and its royal legacy. Surrounded by lush gardens filled with Cashew trees, the palace boasts nearly 50 rooms. The interiors offer a glimpse into the opulent culture and lifestyle of the tribal kings of the Mukne family.

On the upper floor, visitors can explore the children's nursery, drawing room, exquisite antique furniture, the royal bedroom, stuffed tigers, and a grand lobby. While the guest section remains off-limits, the guide reveals that important guests occasionally stay here. It is nestled amidst the Sahyadri Hills, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and lush greenery. The palace is a sought-after location for film shoots.
