At a distance of 9 km from Yercaud Bus Stand, Sri Chakra Maha Meru Temple is a Hindu temple located at Nagalore village. It is one of the prominent tourist places in Yercaud.
Sri Chakra Maha Meru Temple is located in the complex of Sri Lalitha Tripurasundari Temple. It is renowned as the largest Sri Chakra Maha Meru in the world. There is a three-dimensional pyramid that takes a form of Sri Chakra when viewed from atop. Devotees firmly believe that worshipping the Devi with the Sri Chakra is equivalent to worshipping the ultimate divine power.
The temple exudes a serene and lively atmosphere. The main sanctum sanctorum of the temple is constructed using white marble and features well-paved pathways. Additionally, there are shrines dedicated to goddess Saraswathi, Vishwaroopa Moorthy, and Urthuva Thandava Moorthy. A semicircular pit filled with water is also present, where the reflection of the Sri Chakra Maha Meru forms the gopuram of the sanctum sanctorum. Devotees hold the belief that when they toss a coin into this pit and make a wish, it will come true.
The temple is extremely vibrant and provides an ambience which is perfect for meditation. There are small fountains adorned with idols of Lord Buddha and other Gods in the middle. The surrounding glass panes and flowering plants make up for a scenic background.
