At a distance of 3 km from Library Bus Stand, Mussoorie Heritage Centre is a private enterprise situated on Chamunda Peeth Temple Road in Mussoorie. It is opened in November 2013, with the objective of showcasing and preserving the Heritage of Mussoorie and the adjoining areas. It has become one of the popular tourist places in Mussoorie.
The Soham Heritage and Art Centre showcase the culture and tradition of Himalayas through paintings on canvasses, sculptures, frescoes, murals and scrap art. It has a collection of local heritage artifacts - musical instruments, clothes, jewelry, vessels and many others. It archives and displays the historical heritage of Mussoorie from 1814 when the first map of the region was compiled by the Survey of India, till 1959, when Dalai Lama built his first colony in Mussoorie. An audio-visual journey of Uttarakhand is also being developed.
The main activities of Mussoorie Heritage Centre are: Educating children and student groups about the history of Mussoorie, organizing heritage walks and conducting Bird Watch around Mussoorie. This place is located in a serene forest area with a remarkable view of the Doon Valley. Tourists can also purchase sculptures, stones and other locally made souvenirs from a small shop at the Center.
