At a distance of 2 km from Alwar Railway Station, Purjan Vihar is a beautiful and aesthetic garden located in the heart of the city of Alwar. It is one of the top tourist places to visit in Alwar.

The Company Garden, also known as Company Bagh, is located next to the renowned City Palace. Established in 1868 by Maharaja Shiv Dan Singh, it was initially referred to as 'Company Garden' but was later renamed Purjan Vihar by Maharaja Jai Singh. The garden features expansive lawns, meticulously maintained gardens, and an overall enchanting landscape.

In addition to its lush greenery and abundant foliage, Purjan Vihar showcases remarkable architecture, including Chhattris and Bengali-style roofs. Furthermore, the garden contains a small structure known as 'Shimla' or 'summer house,' characterized by its large dome. This is named so beacuse of the cooler and more pleasant temperatures found here compared to the surrounding areas and the main city. Water for this beautiful garden was transported from Siliserh Lake through a 3-kilometer-long aqueduct constructed from solid stone masonry.

Once a property of royal heritage, the park is now accessible to the general public and stands as one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. It also serves as an ideal picnic destination, featuring walking paths amidst the greenery and several eateries located just outside its gates. Additionally, there are swings and seesaws available for children in the designated play area.
