At a distance of 7 km from Jabalpur Junction, Madan Mahal Fort is an ancient fort located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Perched atop a rocky hill, it is one of the popular places of heritage in Madhya Pradesh, and among the best Jabalpur places to visit.

Madan Mahal Fort was built by Raja Madan Shah in 1116 AD, and it stands as a testament to the Gond rulers who once ruled the city. This small fort originally served as a military post and a watchtower. The rulers used to keep a good watch upon the attackers or enemies from this tower. It is also known as Rani Durgavati Fort as it is well associated with the Gond Queen Rani Durgavati and her son Madan Shah. Rani Durgavati died while fighting the Mughals and hailed as a martyr in Indian history. She also built numerous temples and tanks scattered around Jabalpur chiefly around her Garha principality.

The fort stands at 500 meters tall and has regular architectural capabilities but has unique passageways, underground routes, and sharp turns. It is specially made to adjust complex and heavy martial threats. This majestic fort features war rooms, pleasure chambers, a stable, and a small reservoir which set a live example of the architectural beauty of the place. The fort dominates the skyline and provides a panoramic view of the town and the countryside around it.
