At a distance of 20 Kms from Kollam, Puttingal Temple dedicated to Goddess Devi is located in Paravur village. This temple is located on a small ant hill, known as 'puttu'. The present structure is about 200 years old.
The famous festival of this temple is called 'Thottampattu', starts on the 21st day of the month of Vrischikam (November/December). The birthday of the Godess is also celebrated in a grand manner in the month of Meenam - March/April. Traditional arts like Aswathi vilakku, Kathakali, Kampadikali, Marameduppu are celebrated during this festival.
