At a distance of 8 Kms from Bangalore City Railway Station, Infant Jesus Church is situated in Viveknagar. Originally built in 1979, a new church adjacent to the old shrine was opened in 2005.
The church was designed by architects Thomas Associates. It has a fan shaped hall which can accommodate about 2500 devotees with 9 faces and openings running all round the church. In addition, there is a mezzanine area and basement parking. The interior of the church is so designed that wherever people are seated they will feel that the altar is facing them. The main mural is 6x9 meter that replicates the nativity scene in the nativity church of Jerusalem. The shrine is known as the place of miracles and divine solace.
Thousand of devotees from all faiths throng the shrine on Thursday, to honour Infant Jesus.
