At a distance of 0.5 kms from Nampally Railway Station, Public Gardens is the one of the city's oldest and largest gardens.
Built in the year of 1846 by Nizam, this beautiful garden houses number of public buildings. To the right of the main gate is a small beautifully constructed Mosque, where the 7th Nizam is said to have prayed every Friday. To the left are Jawahar Bal Bhavan and Indira Gandhi Auditorium where exhibitions and contests for children are held.
The public garden houses the Health Museum and Andhra Pradesh State Archaeological Museum, a park for kids and an open air auditorium named Lalitha Kala Bhavan. Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly building is just adjacent to the Public Gardens.
Timings: 9 AM to 12 PM & 2 PM to 5 PM. Closed on Fridays.
