At a distance of 57 Kms from Pollachi, 93 Kms from Palakkad and 98 Kms from Coimbatore, Parambikulam Dam is an embankment dam built on the Parambikulam River near Parambikulam in Palakkad district of Kerala. It is 21 Kms from Top Slip and 47 Kms from Valparai.
Parambikulam Dam is the best in India and one of the top ten embankment dams in the world. The dam is located with in Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary and it is surrounded by rich natural beauty. It is also an excellent place for bird watching. Boating is available in the reservoir.
It is a great picnic spot to watch the nature & enjoy the boating. Bus service is available between Pollachi and Parambikulam, twice a day at 6:15 AM and 3:15 PM (return buses at 8.45 AM & 5.45 PM).
