At a distance of 10 km from Kottiyoor, 47 km from Kalpetta, and 54 km from Sulthan Bathery, Palchuram Waterfall is a stunning waterfall located at Boys Town on the border of the Wayanad and Kannur districts in Kerala. It is one of the most prominent waterfalls in Wayanad and among the top places to visit near Mysore.

Surrounded by dense forests, Palchuram Waterfall is a four-tier waterfall that cascades down from a height of about 300 meters and forms a natural pool below which is safe for swimming. It is a mere 5 km from Kottiyoor, which is located on Mananthavady Road. Many adventure enthusiast tourists prefer to reach the fall by trekking through the dense deciduous forests surrounding it.

Palchuram is a new road opened from Wayanad towards Kottiyoor. The dangerous pin bends at Palchuram are nerve-racking for a novice mountain driver and, on the other hand, absolute gushes of adrenaline rush for the experienced driver. There are so many beautiful viewpoints from where you can look down the valley and get goosebumps and chills. During the monsoon season, the view of the mountains with gushing tiny waterfalls, the mist, and the chilly weather add to the area and its exotic beauty.

To reach the waterfall, visitors need to walk around 1-2 km from the road. Even though the path to the waterfalls from the main road is narrow, the waterfall is worth visiting. On the way to the waterfall, trekkers can find Areca nut plantations. These thick evergreen forests make for a wonderful sightseeing. Visitors should be careful while visiting the waterfall as the route is not that safe and is inhabited by exotic fauna.
