At a distance of 70 km from Kozhikode, 77 km from Kalpetta, and 93 km from Sulthan Bathery, Vilangad Waterfall is a pristine waterfall located near Vilangad village in the Kozhikode district of Kerala. It is one of the least explored waterfalls in Wayanad, and among the top places to visit in Kozhikode.

Also known as Thirikakkayam Waterfall, or Karukulam Waterfall, Vilangad Waterfall is a small beautiful waterfall cascading down from a height of about 32 feet.It is surrounded by hills with characteristic mixed deciduous and miscellaneous forest vegetation. Although not very high, the waterfall cascades down over a rocky slope and forms a natural pool at the bottom. The crystal clear and cool water offers an excellent opportunity to swim or take a dip.

Thiriyakkayam Waterfall is a tranquil and picturesque destination for those seeking an escape from city life. This is a hidden destination that very few people know about. The waterfall will be flowing in full strength during the monsoon. The calming sound of the waterfall and birds chirping provide a relaxing ambiance that will soothe your mind and body. A picnic by the waterfall is a great idea.

It is located near to Chelakkavu Temple on Kallachi-Villangad Road and 15 km from Nadapuram town on the Kallachi-Vilangad stretch. One has to walk around 1 km to reach this waterfall from the main road through the lush green forest, which is suitable for beginners, but caution should be exercised due to slippery rocks and leeches.
