Thottikallu Falls - History, Timings & Entry Fee

At a distance of 32 km from Bangalore, Thottikallu Falls is a seasonal waterfall situated at Nallakkana Doddy village off the Kanakapura Road. It is one of the scenic waterfalls near Bangalore, and among the must-visit Bangalore tourist places.

Thottikallu Falls or TK Falls is one of the lovely spots for nature lovers and trekkers. It is also known as Swarna Mukhi Falls which means Golden face. The name itself implies the mesmerizing beauty that the waterfall boasts of. Thottikallu Falls is an amalgamation of two adjacent waterfalls. One fall has a wide shower, and the other is a narrow jet stream. People also visit the Muneshawara Temple that is located under a huge tree right at the entrance of the waterfall. It is a peaceful site for visitors to spend a few moments.

One can take a shower after the tedious trek or inhale the fascinating beauty of this place. Visitors cannot take the four-wheelers quite far because the road leading to the fall is narrow and getting a vehicle there can be an uphill task. If you are opting for a trekking scene then, you will find a steep, narrow trail leading to a high cliff. The view from the cliff is astounding. Getting down the cliff is risky and can be fatal if precautionary steps are ignored.

To enjoy the real charm of this waterfall, one must visit immediately after or during the monsoon season as in the summer season, it dries up to a large extent. If you want to sit and just bask in the beauty of this fall then you can sit at one of the many rocks here. You will find various rocks near the fall.
