At a distance of 29 km from Bangalore, Big Banyan Vineyard is located on the outskirts of Bangalore. It is one of the scenic vineyards in Karnataka, and among the top places to visit in Bangalore.

Set in 20 acres of sprawling greenery, Big Banyan Vineyard is situated near the iconic Dodda Alada Mara, the massive 400 year old banyan tree spanning 3 acres. The red clay soil and the mildly nippy weather with bursts of sunshine are perfect for some of the varietals cultivate here. Lucio Matricardi, the vineyard winemaker, has handpicked a crew of farmers and trained them in the subtle nuances of viticulture. Together, they tend to vines, prune them, nurture them, wait for the ripe moment and pluck the grapes for the winery.

The vineyard is open to the public, and the company has built a modern Tasting Room where you can try four to six wines and cheese from 10 Cuts of Cheese. The vineyards and the Big Banyan winery offer the rare experience of witnessing the magical creation of exotic fine wines. Take a stroll down the vineyards and join the team at the winery as they guide you through the entire wine-making process.

Open from Monday to Sunday, the wine tours run in slots every hour starting from 11 AM to 4 PM, and on Weekends i.e. from Friday to Sunday, there is an additional tour at 5 PM. Advance booking is mandatory to visit the vineyard. If you're longing for a short relaxing break or a peaceful weekend getaway, when the bustle and stress of the city becomes a tad overwhelming, then this is the best places for you.
